Yesterday (Tuesday 21st March), actor Antonio Banderas (Interview with the Vampire, The Mask of Zorro) attended auditions for a brand new Spanish production of The Phantom of the Opera, "El Fantasma de la Òpera". This production marks the first collaboration for Amigos Para Siempre (APS), the joint venture between the Spanish actor and Andrew Lloyd Webber, to create Spanish language productions across major global markets. Banderas starred alongside Madonna as Ché in the 1996 movie adaptation of Lloyd Webber's hit musical, Evita.

Over the last number of days, auditions for the Spanish production, which will open in The Albéniz Theatre in Madrid later this year, were held in The Pavón Theater. Banderas attended a day of auditions, as well as a press conference about the production, yesterday afternoon.

Tickets for this much-anticipated production of Phantom are on sale from today. Don't miss out!
