The Phantom of the Opera Italy opened at Politeama Rossetti in Trieste last night, 4th July. This highly-anticipated new production stars Ramin Karimloo as The Phantom opposite Amelia Milo as Christine, Bradley Jaden as Raoul and Earl Carpenter as Monsieur André. Fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber may already recognise some of the faces from this star-studded cast, but if you still need a little illumination, here is everything you need to know about the cast of The Phantom of the Opera Italy.

Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom)

This Canadian-born musical theatre star is no stranger to The Phantom of the Opera. Not only has Karimloo previously donned the mask in Seoul and, most notably, for the The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, he has also played both Raoul and The Phantom at the home of Phantom at His Majesty’s Theatre in the West End, as well as originating the role of The Phantom in Love Never Dies in 2010. A phan favourite, Karimloo has a dedicated following, the most ardent of whom will know that he also made a cameo in the 2004 Phantom film as Christine's Father, Gustave Daaé. Ramin has expressed his excitement to be involved in this brand new production of Phantom, describing it as “an honour to be a part of”.

Amelia Milo (Christine)

Milo is a singer-songwriter with a lifelong passion for music and performing, having graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts from Brown University in 2019. Milo’s musical theatre journey began when she played Young Cosette in her local high school’s production of Les Misérables, a moment which came full circle after she appeared in Tom Hooper’s 2012 film and provided vocals on the soundtrack. Milo has also worked as a back-up singer for Kristen Chenoweth and has taught Shakespeare to students in over 30 schools across Providence in Rhode Island. Of the Italian production of The Phantom of the Opera, Milo said: “I have always dreamed of being part of this show, but I never thought I’d actually get to play Christine in Italy for the first time.”

Bradley Jaden (Raoul)

The London-based stage actor made his West End debut playing Papa Bear in Shrek the Musical and has since starred in some of the West End’s most beloved productions, including Wicked and Les Mis. Jaden was the last actor to play Javert in the Queen’s Theatre and also took over the role from the legendary Michael Ball at the Sondheim Theatre. Soap opera fans may recognise Jaden as Jed from EastEnders, a role he has played since January 2023. Although this is Jaden’s first time being involved in a Phantom production, he has worked with Karimloo before, as well as past West End Christine Daaé, Lucy St, Louis in Camelot at the London Palladium last year.

Earl Carpenter (Monsieur André)

Somewhat of a West End legend, Earl Carpenter is perhaps best known for playing Javert in Les Mis and, of course, the titular role in The Phantom of the Opera, most recently replacing Killian Donnelly at His Majesty’s Theatre earlier this year before Jon Robyns took over the role. Like Karimloo, Carpenter also performed as The Phantom as part of the The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Performance at the Royal Albert Hall. Amongst his many theatre credits, Carpenter has been involved in a number of Andrew Lloyd Webber productions, including Evita, Sunset Boulevard and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

You can see Ramin Karimloo, Amelia Milo, Bradley Jaden and Earl Carpenter in this new production of The Phantom of the Opera at Politeama Rossetti in Trieste until 16th July.
