A Haunting Tale of Mystery and Deception

The Woman in White is a gripping musical adaptation of Wilkie Collins' classic Victorian novel. Set against a backdrop of intrigue and suspense, the story follows two sisters caught in a web of dark secrets, deception, and betrayal. With a hauntingly beautiful score, the musical weaves a tale of love, identity, and justice, immersing audiences in a world where nothing is as it seems.

Walter Hartright’s life is forever changed after a chance encounter with a mysterious woman dressed in white, who is desperate to reveal her chilling secret. As he takes on the role of drawing master to the beautiful Laura Fairlie and her half-sister Marian, he notices an eerie reflection of the forlorn figure in Laura’s face. Their feelings for each other are thwarted by Laura’s engagement to the sinister Sir Percival Glyde. What is the connection between Laura, Sir Percival, and the woman in white? Can true love prevail?

The show premiered at the Palace Theatre, London, on 15th September 2004, starring Maria Friedman as Marian Halcombe, Angela Christian as Anne, Martin Crewes as Walter Hartright, and Michael Crawford as the original Count Fosco.
